Carol is the mother of Village Editorial president Anna Hartzog. Together, they have written a book based on a playful bedtime story that Carol told her children when they were young. Anna has passed on the same story to her children, and now they’ve decided to share this joyful story with others. They have enlisted illustrator Racheal Smithson to help them bring it to life. Look for the release of Eek and Ouch in Fall 2025.

 

Carol was born and raised in Louisville, Alabama. She went on to graduate from Judson College and (like her daughter after her) taught English for a number of years. She and her husband, Beebe, live in Montgomery and have two adult children, Anna Hartzog and Bee Frederick, and two hilarious grandsons, Owen and Emmett Hartzog.
