Carrie + Kevin Towns

Kevin and Carrie Towns are first-time children’s book authors who recently made Birmingham, Alabama, home after many years in Oneonta. Kevin is a co-owner of a Birmingham based logistics company, and Carrie is the owner of Carrie Towns Calligraphy, specializing in calligraphy and hand engraving.
Together they have two sons, one wonderful daughter-in-law, and are proud grandparents to Oakley and his little sister, Caroline. With one son still at home and the other raising a family of his own, they find themselves happily navigating the season between busy family life and becoming empty nesters.
When they’re not working, Kevin and Carrie can usually be found with a good book in hand, planning their next adventure or exploring Birmingham’s incredible food scene.
Their debut picture book was inspired by their grandson Oakley, whose fascination with trucks, trains, helicopters, and all things transportation sparked the idea for a story celebrating curiosity, imagination, and the everyday heroes who keep a city moving. They hope Oaky’s adventures encourage children and families to slow down, look out the window, and discover the wonder that’s been there all along.
