Virnetta Woodbury

Virnetta Woodbury is a dedicated construction professional with over 19 years of experience in the industry. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she is a proud wife and mother of two daughters. She graduated from the historic A.H. Parker High School, where she was a five-time state track gold medalist and held the state record in the 800m (5A division).

Virnetta earned her degree in civil engineering from the University of Alabama, where she also competed as a scholarship student-athlete in track and cross country. Her professional career spans a wide range of project types, including power plants, sports facilities, hospitals, churches, commercial renovations, and more, demonstrating her versatility and leadership across the construction field.

Virnetta is a long-standing member of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and has served on the board for several years. She is also deeply involved in the ACE Mentor Program of Alabama, where she has spent over 15 years mentoring high school students interested in careers in architecture, construction, and engineering.
As a passionate speaker and role model, Virnetta regularly visits classrooms from elementary through college, sharing her journey in construction and encouraging students to explore the vast career opportunities available to them. Her commitment to youth empowerment extends beyond speaking engagements—she is currently publishing a college and career readiness workbook designed specifically for high school students. This hands-on resource aims to guide students through the process of discovering their interests, setting goals, and making informed decisions about their futures.

In her local community, Virnetta volunteers in the children’s ministry at her church, where she leads praise and worship, teaches lessons, and supports families. In her spare time, she enjoys bowling, gardening, fishing, and painting.

Through every facet of her work, Virnetta Woodbury is driven by a clear mission: to build up people as passionately as she builds physical spaces and to ensure the next generation is equipped to do the same.
